At Hijos de Dios Community Centre, our team works with over 100 children in our 3 Learning Centres. These children have various learning challenges, such as: autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech problems, delayed learning, trauma at birth and more. Our staff does an amazing job improving the educational, psychological, spiritual, emotional and mental life of these children. Over the last few years, we have been working with more and more children that require assistance improving their physical life as well. This year we started a physical education class for those who have poor gross motor skills and lack coordination due to disabilities.

We see the need in the community to improve this area of individuals lives. As lifelong athletes, Kerry and I know the blessing and benefits of the freedom of movement and mobility. We have known pain and suffering through our sporting activities and feel really blessed to be able to move as we do. As we see the large amount of people here (young and old) who suffer with chronic pain, injuries and physical limitations, we feel that we can offer healing to the body through a therapy pool. (For those who don’t know, Kerry suffered 4 broken vertebrae in her neck when she was a teenager and lives with pain every day. She continues to dance, exercise, hike, and more, but she has to constantly receive treatment for her neck. She understands both sides of the situation and has a passion to see people healing in body and spirit. We believe in the powerful, miracle working healing of God, but we also know that God works in a variety of way to bring that healing.)

In August 2023, I will be attempting the Canmore Quad. It is challenge in the running/hiking community to climb all 4 mountains around Canmore, Alberta in less than a day. I will start at a designated place in the town of Canmore then summit 4 mountains (Grotto, Lady MacDonald, Ha Ling and East End of Rundle), while running between, then finish at the same spot I started. It is an approximate vertical gain of 5000 meters over 53 km. I am calling it The GOOD Quad.
I feel so blessed to be able to do all my crazy adventures over the years and I feel honored to be able to use my legs, my body to raise funds to help others who need healing and restoration in their bodies.
The goal is to raise $25,000 to build a therapy pool at the Hijos de Dios Community Centre in Guatemala, to provide therapy, rehabilitation, pain release, mobility therapy and more.
Would you join with us to bring the healing?
